The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a
* Special Marine Warning for...
Nearshore and Open waters from Geneva-on-the-lake OH to Ripley
NY...
* Until 1145 PM EDT.
* At 1012 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
waterspouts, strong winds, and large hail were located along a
line extending from near Ripley to near Erie to 12 nm north of
Conneaut, moving east at 35 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, and large
hail.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could
result in structural damage.
* Locations impacted include...
Erie and Conneaut.
Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.
