The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a
* Tornado Warning for...
Northeastern Niagara County in western New York...
West central Orleans County in western New York...
* Until 630 PM EDT.
* At 607 PM EDT, a confirmed waterspout was located just offshore
near Newfane, or 13 miles north of Lockport, moving southeast at 30
mph.
HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Weather spotters confirmed waterspout moving onshore.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.
* Locations impacted include...
Medina, Newfane, Middleport, Ridgeway, Lyndonville, Barker,
Gasport, Olcott, and Appleton.
TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
