Special Marine Warning issued September 2 at 8:45AM EDT until September 2 at 9:45AM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH
For the following areas...
Nearshore waters from Conneaut OH to Ripley NY...
Open waters from Geneva-on-the-lake OH to Ripley NY...
At 845 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located 15 nm west of Erie,
moving southeast at 40 knots.
HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and large hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in
structural damage.
Locations impacted include...
Erie.
Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
