Special Marine Warning issued September 2 at 6:47AM EDT until September 2 at 7:30AM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH
For the following areas...
Nearshore and Open waters from Geneva-on-the-lake OH to Ripley NY...
At 646 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 16 nm northwest of Ripley to near Erie to 11 nm
northwest of Conneaut, moving southeast at 35 knots.
HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots and large hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in
structural damage.
Locations impacted include...
Erie, Geneva-On-The-Lake, Conneaut, and Ashtabula.
Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
