Description
The York County Mosquito and Tick-Borne Disease Control Program announced today it will conduct a mosquito-control spray operation in residential and recreational areas of Springettsbury Township, Manchester Township, York City, and Spring Garden Township on Monday Aug. 31, 2026.

The county will spray for adult mosquitoes from a truck beginning around sunset in the following areas:

Manchester Township: Eagles View

Springettsbury Township: North Hills Park

Spring Garden Township: Wallace Street

York City: Clugston Road

These areas have been targeted for treatment due to high counts of mosquitoes capable of transmitting West Nile Virus. Residents on the targeted roads, as well as nearby roads, should be aware that spraying is planned for those areas.

Should the weather or other unexpected events occur to prevent or delay the start of the treatment, the operation will be rescheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 1, if necessary.

The event will be conducted by York County’s Mosquito and Tick-Borne Disease Control Program (Business License BU8376).

The product that will be used is Clarke® AquaDUET®, which is a water-based product designed to effectively control and eliminate large populations of adult mosquitoes. The county performs these sprays at night to avoid contact with non-target insects such as bees and butterflies.

The product will be applied at a rate of 0.75 ounces per acre. The product is designed to come into contact with flying mosquitoes and therefore has no residual effect as it breaks down within 20 minutes after application.

Additional Mosquito Protection Information
