Borough of Hatboro Applies for PA DCED Main Street Matters Grant to Support Downtown Feasibility Study
The Borough of Hatboro is pleased to announce its application to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's (DCED) Main Street Matters Grant Program to fund a comprehensive feasibility study of the Downtown Hatboro Business District.
As Hatboro continues to invest in the future of its downtown, the proposed study will evaluate opportunities to strengthen the business district, enhance the visitor experience, improve accessibility and connectivity, and support the long-term success of local businesses.
The feasibility study will provide a detailed assessment of existing conditions throughout the downtown area, including parking, pedestrian mobility, streetscape amenities, economic development opportunities, public spaces, and overall business district vitality. The study will also seek input from business owners, property owners, residents, and community stakeholders to ensure that future recommendations reflect the needs and priorities of the Hatboro community.
The Borough's goal is to develop a strategic roadmap for future improvements that will preserve the character of Downtown Hatboro while encouraging investment, attracting visitors, and supporting economic growth.
"Downtown Hatboro is the heart of our community," said the Downtown Development Committee of Borough Council. "This feasibility study will help us identify opportunities to build upon our strengths, support our local businesses, and create an even more vibrant and welcoming downtown for residents and visitors alike."
If awarded, the Main Street Matters Grant will provide funding to engage professional planning and economic development consultants to conduct the study and develop recommendations that can guide future revitalization efforts and position the Borough for additional grant opportunities and investment.
