Description
Flash Flood Warning issued August 27 at 1:38PM EDT until August 27 at 5:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ
At 138 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring in Sayreville and
South Brunswick Township.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Somerset, Edison, Old Bridge, East
Brunswick, South Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Carteret
and Middlesex.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
