🎒🚍 First Day of School Reminder — Wednesday, August 26
The Slippery Rock Area School District will begin the 2026–2027 school year on Wednesday, August 26!
As our students return to school, please help keep our children safe by slowing down, staying alert, and allowing extra travel time—especially during morning and afternoon school bus routes.
🛑 Pennsylvania School Bus Law Reminder:
When a school bus is stopped with its red signal lights flashing and stop arm extended, you MUST STOP. Vehicles approaching from both directions are required to stop, with limited exceptions for divided highways.
🚸 Please also remember to:
• Watch carefully for children getting on and off school buses.
• Be alert for children crossing streets and walking near roadways.
• Never pass a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing.
• Slow down in school zones and residential areas.
• Put down distractions and keep your eyes on the road.
Let's all do our part to make the first day—and every school day—a safe one for our children, families, bus drivers, teachers, and community.
