Special Weather Statement issued August 22 at 10:39PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 1039 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Carlisle to Hanover. Movement was
northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Harrisburg, York, Lower Allen, Hanover, Colonial Park, Weigelstown,
Elizabethtown, Progress, Mechanicsburg, Middletown, Camp Hill, New
Cumberland, Red Lion, Linglestown, Enola, Steelton, Spry, Lemoyne,
Hummelstown, and Dallastown.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
