Flood Watch issued August 19 at 2:10PM CDT until August 20 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Lincoln IL
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and west central
Illinois, including the following counties, in central Illinois,
De Witt, Logan, Macon, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Menard, Peoria,
Piatt, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford. In east central Illinois,
Champaign and Vermilion. In west central Illinois, Fulton and Knox.
* WHEN...Until 1 AM CDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A narrow band of showers and thunderstorms are developing in
a west to east orientation across central IL this afternoon
and will continue to develop into this evening. Between 1 and
2 inches of rain is possible this afternoon and evening with
pockets of 2 to 5 inches possible. This rain will fall on
areas that received very heavy rains during the past week and
may lead to flash flooding.

Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
