Description
School Will be starting soon. We ask that all residents remain diligent and aware of the risks and dangers around bus stops.
Tips for Bus Safety:
BEFORE THE BUS ARRIVES-
Wait for the bus at least 10 feet -5 giant steps- away from the curb
GETTING ON AND OFF SAFELY-
Wait until the bus comes to a complete stop, the door opens, and the driver says it's OK to get on or off.
USE CAUTION-
Never walk behind a school bus.
DROP SOMETHING? -
Don't try to pick it up! The bus driver might not see you.
MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH THE BUS DRIVER BEFORE CROSSING IN FRONT OF THE BUS
DRIVERS-
ALWAYS STOŠ FOR SCHOOL BUSES!
YELLOW flashing lights mean the bus is preparing to stop. Drivers should slow down.
RED flashing lights and extended stop arm means you must stop and wait.
IT'S ILLEGAL TO PASS A SCHOOL BUS WHILE THE STOP-ARM IS EXTENDED AND THE RED LIGHTS ARE FLASHING.
REMEMBER!
KIDS ARE MOST AT RISK WHEN APPROACHING OR LEAVING A SCHOOL BUS
