Description
Recovery efforts continue throughout the Town of Porter following the August 11 storm.
Power: Power has been restored to much of Town, although some residents may remain without service. Town Hall, 303 Franklin Street, remains available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for residents without power to cool off and charge electronic devices.
Storm Debris: Public Works continues collecting the significant amount of tree debris throughout Town. This process will take considerable time, and we appreciate everyone's patience.
Please be mindful when parking near storm debris placed at the curb and leave enough space for Public Works crews and equipment to safely access and collect the material. Please do not place debris in the street.
No Open Burning: Residents are reminded that open burning of tree debris is prohibited within the Town of Porter.
Local Disaster Emergency: The Local Disaster Emergency remains in effect. The Town Council will consider extending the emergency at its meeting this evening.
Residents and businesses should continue to report storm-related damage to Indiana 211 by calling 2-1-1, calling 866-211-9966, or visiting IN211.org.
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as Town crews, first responders, utility crews, and assisting agencies continue recovery efforts throughout Porter.
For police, fire, or medical emergencies, always call 911.
