Description
Construction begins today, Monday, August 17, on underground telecommunications improvements within the community.
Residents may begin seeing crews, construction vehicles, and equipment working primarily within the public right-of-way, including areas along the front of residential properties. Work will include directional boring, small excavations, installation of underground infrastructure, fiber placement and splicing, and other related activities.
Residents may also notice temporary utility flags and paint markings in yards and along the right-of-way. Please do not remove or relocate these markings, as they identify existing underground utilities and are important for the safety of residents and construction crews.
Crews will use directional boring where practical to minimize surface disturbance. Some small excavations will still be necessary, and temporary noise, soil displacement, and traffic-control measures may occur as work progresses.
Following installation, fiber-splicing technicians may be seen working from specialized vans or trucks near underground handholes. This is a normal part of completing the project.
Restoration will follow construction activities and may include backfilling, grading, and replacing sod in disturbed areas. Work and restoration are currently expected to continue through approximately the first week of September.
We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as this work moves through the community. Crews will work to complete the project safely and efficiently while minimizing impacts to residents and their properties.
