Description
Albion Borough has recently seen an increase in individuals conducting door-to-door sales and other temporary sales activities without first obtaining the required Borough license.
Under Albion Borough Code Chapter 376, Peddling and Soliciting, individuals conducting transient retail business within the Borough are required to obtain a license from the Albion Borough Office before beginning business activities, unless specifically exempt under the ordinance.
RESIDENTS: If someone comes to your door selling a product or service, you may ask to see their Albion Borough-issued license. Individuals conducting door-to-door or other mobile sales are required to carry their license with them while working.
BUSINESSES & SOLICITORS: Please contact the Borough Office before beginning door-to-door, temporary, or other covered sales activities in Albion Borough to determine what licensing requirements apply.
Failure to obtain the required license may result in enforcement action and penalties as provided by Borough ordinance.
Residents are never obligated to open their door, provide personal information, or make a purchase. If something doesn't seem right, trust your instincts.
If someone is soliciting and cannot provide the required Borough license, please contact the Albion Borough Office, 814-756-3660
