Description
Due to widespread power outages caused by today’s severe storm, numerous Town of Porter wastewater lift stations are currently without power.
Residents and businesses are asked to limit water usage as much as possible until power is restored. Reducing water use will help prevent the lift stations from becoming overwhelmed and reduce the risk of wastewater overflows.
Please postpone non-essential water use, including laundry, dishwashers, long showers, and other activities that use large amounts of water. Normal toilet and necessary household water use may continue, but we ask everyone to conserve wherever possible.
Emergency personnel and town crews are actively responding to storm-related issues throughout the community. Please also use extreme caution when traveling and limit unnecessary travel. Stay away from downed power lines and treat ALL downed power lines as energized.
