Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued August 11 at 10:30AM EDT until August 11 at 11:15AM EDT by NWS Wilmington OH
At 1030 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Millersport,
moving east at 50 mph.
THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR Licking and Fairfield Counties.
HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.
Locations impacted include...
Columbus, Newark, Lancaster, Reynoldsburg, Pickerington, Heath,
Logan, Granville, Pataskala, Canal Winchester, Johnstown, Baltimore,
Buckeye Lake, Hebron, Utica, Bremen, Millersport, Pleasantville,
Hanover, and Hide-A-Way Hills.
This includes I-70 in Ohio between mile markers 112 and 142, and near
mile marker 144.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. This storm is producing widespread
wind damage across central Ohio. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy
structure and stay away from windows.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
