Description
Special Weather Statement issued August 10 at 1:30PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 129 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Williamsport, moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Williamsport, Montoursville, Muncy, Hughesville, Montgomery,
Duboistown, Cogan Station, Trout Run, Barbours, Loyalsockville,
Collomsville, South Williamsport, Garden View, Oval, Williamsport
Airport, and Little League World Series Complex.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 300 PM EDT for
north central Pennsylvania. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch also remains
in effect until 700 PM EDT for central Pennsylvania.
