Description
Flash Flood Warning issued August 7 at 5:08PM EDT until August 7 at 6:45PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 508 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain have moved off to the south of central York County. Up to 3
inches of rain have fallen. Any current flooding impacts will
continue, but little to no additional rainfall is expected.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Red Lion, Spry, Dallastown, Shrewsbury, Tyler Run-Queens Gate, Glen
Rock, Jacobus, Windsor, Yoe, Cross Roads, Brogue, Shenks Ferry,
Safe Harbor, Loganville, Winterstown and Felton.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
