Description
Heads up, neighbors — Peoples Natural Gas started the planned gas line work on West Steuben Street today. The work will head down West Steuben from Walsh/Richmond St to the Thornburg Bridge from Thursday, Aug 6 through Monday, Oct 5.
What to expect:
Work will happen in phases, with temporary lane closures, signage, and flaggers directing traffic through the intersection.
To minimize disruption, lane restrictions on West Steuben will only occur during off-peak hours — no lane closures between 6–9 AM or 3–6 PM on weekdays.
The traffic signal at the Thornburg Bridge intersection may run in flashing mode at times, with an off-duty police officer directing traffic.
Ingram Avenue will be temporarily closed at Steubenville Pike. A signed detour route will guide drivers around the closure — please follow posted detour signs.
Driveway and side-street access will be maintained throughout construction.
Please slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and allow a little extra time for your commute through this area during construction.
Questions about the project? Please contact Peoples Gas.
Thank you for your patience as the utility company replaces aging infrastructure.
