Flash Flood Warning issued August 2 at 5:02PM EDT until August 2 at 7:15PM EDT by NWS State College PA

At 502 PM EDT, emergency management reported flash flooding due to
heavy rain between Williamsport and Montoursville. Between 2.5 and 4
inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2
inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is already occurring. Additional
flash flooding is expected farther north in places like Ralston,
Trout Run, Loyalsockville, and Cogan Station.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Williamsport, Montoursville, Montgomery, Duboistown, Cogan Station,
Trout Run, Loyalsockville, Ralston, Elimsport, Barbours,
Collomsville, South Williamsport, Garden View, Oval, Salladasburg,
Little League World Series Complex and Williamsport Airport.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
