Description
Flood Warning issued July 29 at 10:58AM EDT until July 29 at 5:00PM EDT by NWS Albany NY

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of east central New York, including the
following counties, Albany, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga,
Schenectady and Ulster.

* WHEN...Until 500 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to
excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are
inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1056 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Flooding
is already occurring in the warned area. Between 3 and 7
inches of rain have fallen. This areas Flood Warning replaces
the Flash Flood Warning since rainfall rates have decreased,
but many impacts still remain with flooded roads and elevated
stream levels.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Clifton Park, Rotterdam, Cohoes,
Watervliet, Rensselaer, Colonie, Scotia, Hunter, Delmar,
Latham, Guilderland, Niskayuna, Duanesburg, Woodstock,
Menands, Westerlo and Ravena.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
