IMPORTANT SEWER BILLING UPDATE FROM MAWC
Residents should have received an orange/peach postcard sewer bill from the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County (MAWC) with a due date of July 22, 2026. These bills were mailed around June 30, 2026 and included a letter from MAWC.
The enclosed letter explains that this is the final orange/peach postcard sewer bill you will receive. This bill along with future billing cycles, all sewer payments must be mailed directly to:
Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County (MAWC)

Why Does My Water Bill Show Two Charges?
If you recently received a MAWC water bill, you may notice two separate charges listed:
Water Charges
Sewer Charges
Please note that sewer charges may vary from one customer to another during this transition period. This is normal as MAWC works to synchronize sewer billing with water meter reading dates.
For example:
Water: $300.00
Sewer: $75.00
A sewer charge that appears higher than the normal monthly amount does not necessarily mean you were overcharged. If your June sewer bill had not yet been credited when your water bill was generated, your statement may include:
The outstanding June sewer charge, plus
Additional sewer charges based on the date MAWC read your water meter.
For example, if MAWC read your water meter on July 15, 2026, and your June sewer payment had not yet been processed or was still in transit, your sewer portion could temporarily reflect both amounts, resulting in a higher total.
If you have already mailed your June sewer payment and believe it may have crossed in the mail with your water bill, or if you have any questions regarding your balance, please contact MAWC directly to verify the correct amount due before submitting an additional payment.
