Traffic Safety Update – Radar Speed Signs on Park Street & West Ore Street
The Loganville Borough Council would like to share an update regarding the radar speed feedback signs installed on Park Street and West Ore Street.
The data collected by these signs has been encouraging overall. It shows that the average vehicle speed on both streets is below the posted 25 mph speed limit, demonstrating that the vast majority of motorists are driving responsibly.
However, the data also highlights a serious safety concern. During a random two-week review period, the radar signs recorded 20 vehicles traveling at excessive dangerous speeds.
While these excessive speeds represent only a small percentage of the overall traffic, even a single vehicle traveling at these speeds significantly increases the risk to pedestrians, cyclists, children, and other motorists.
We appreciate the cooperation of the many drivers who obey the speed limit and ask everyone to continue doing their part to keep our neighborhoods safe. Please slow down, stay alert, and help make Loganville’s streets safer for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support of traffic safety in our community.
