Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 4 at 6:49PM EDT until July 4 at 7:15PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 648 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Marysville to Shiremanstown to Dillsburg, moving east
at 30 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Harrisburg, Lower Allen, Hershey, Colonial Park, Progress,
Mechanicsburg, Middletown, Camp Hill, Palmyra, New Cumberland,
Linglestown, and Enola.
This includes the following Interstates...
The Pennsylvania Turnpike from mile markers 232 to 258.
Interstate 81 from mile markers 55 to 85.
Interstate 83 from mile markers 31 to 50.
Interstate 283 from mile markers 0 to 2.
Stay inside a well built structure and keep away from windows.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
