Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 3 at 3:01PM CDT until July 3 at 4:00PM CDT by NWS Chicago IL
At 300 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Highland,
moving east at 40 mph. This storm has a history of producing wind
damage across central Will County.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Hammond, Gary, Portage, Merrillville, Valparaiso, East Chicago,
Schererville, Hobart, Lansing, Crown Point, Highland, Munster, Park
Forest, Chesterton, Cedar Lake, Steger, Lowell, Hebron, Griffith,
Dyer, St. John, Lake Station, Lynwood, Crete, and University Park.
