Description
As a reminder, the current Township burn ban does not prohibit the use of consumer fireworks at this time. However, anyone choosing to use fireworks MUST COMPLY with all Pennsylvania state laws and safety regulations.

Under Pennsylvania law, consumer fireworks may not be discharged:

Within 150 feet of any occupied building or vehicle.
From within, or directed at, a motor vehicle or building.
On public or private property—including streets, parking lots, sidewalks, and parks—without the express permission of the property owner.
While under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance, or any other impairing drug.
Directed at another person, building or vehicle.
Within 150 feet of an animal housing facility or a fenced area used to confine livestock.

With the current dry conditions and extreme heat, everyone is urged to use extra caution and EXERCISE GOOD JUDGEMENT if using consumer fireworks. Please be considerate of your neighbors and help reduce the risk of accidental fires.

Thank you for doing your part to help keep Middle Paxton Township safe.
