Description
The Schuylkill Haven Borough Police Department reminds residents that Pennsylvania law permits adults age 18 and older to purchase and use consumer-grade fireworks. Legal consumer fireworks generally include items such as firecrackers, Roman candles, bottle rockets, and similar Class C/1.4G fireworks that produce a visible or audible effect. Illegal explosive devices include items commonly known as M-80s, quarter sticks, half sticks, cherry bombs, and similar homemade or modified explosive devices. Fireworks may only be discharged with the express permission of the property owner and may not be discharged within 150 feet of any building or vehicle, from or toward a building or vehicle, toward another person, or while under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances. Please use fireworks safely, lawfully, and with consideration for neighbors, pets, veterans, and others in the community.
