CRIME WATCH ALERT JUNE 30, 2026:
The Crafton Police Department took a report on 6-30-2026 regarding a phone scam. The resident received a call from a male who identified himself as a Captain from the Philadelphia Police Department and advised the resident that there was a felony arrest for him for missing jury duty and that he needed to pay $5,000. He was directed to withdraw the money and go to the Crafton Police Department to exchange the money. The resident realized that this was a scam and hung up on the caller. The resident did not provide any payment or personal information to the caller.
The Crafton Police Department and other law enforcement agencies will not call you to tell you that there is a warrant for your arrest and to withdraw money to avoid being arrested. This is a common scare tactic that these fraudsters use to obtain your money or personal information. If in doubt, end the phone call and contact this department immediately for assistance. One of our officers will gladly steer you in the right direction and provide you with assistance. Please do NOT provide any personal information to the caller.
School is out! Please remember to lock your vehicles all of the time and do not leave valuables or spare leys in the vehicle. There are still plenty of people out there stealing vehicles and stealing items from vehicles. Kia and Hyundai owners are still the main targets.
Curfew for juveniles (17 years old and younger). Crafton Borough ordinance chapter 94.
11PM-6AM Sunday-Thursday.
12 midnight-6AM Friday-Saturday.
Kia and Hyundai owners are reminded to take extra measures to secure their vehicles.
