🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT – Penn Hills Residents 🚧
Beginning Monday, July 13, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., a portion of Universal Road near Hershey Road will be closed through October for major bridge repairs.
The project includes:
🔹 Bridge deck and approach repairs
🔹 Sidewalk and barrier improvements
🔹 Structural steel cleaning and painting
🔹 Downspout cleaning
🚗 Detour - Traffic will be rerouted via Saltsburg Road and Stotler Road.
🏠 Good news - Homes and businesses in the area will remain accessible throughout construction.
This project will improve Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad Bridge No. 1, which carries approximately 9,300 vehicles each day and is currently rated in poor condition, making these repairs an important investment in public safety.
