Special Weather Statement issued June 19 at 2:47PM EDT by NWS Melbourne FL

At 247 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Maytown, or 9 miles southwest of Edgewater, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Deltona, Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater, and Orange City.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Seek
safe shelter inside a sturdy building or hard-topped vehicle.
Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10 miles away from a
thunderstorm. When thunder roars, go indoors!
