Description
The Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority (BCWSA) has announced that a Boil Water Advisory is in effect for residents on Station Avenue between West Richardson and West Gillam Avenues. This advisory is in effect because conditions were identified that could allow contamination to enter the distribution system, increasing the chance that the water may contain disease-causing organisms.
During this advisory, residents are advised not to drink the water without boiling it first. Use bottled water or bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using. Bottled or boiled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food until further notice.
Once the water main break is repaired, BCWSA will begin bacteria testing to verify that the water does not contain any contaminants. They will notify the Borough when the Boil Water Advisory is lifted and we will share notice on our website and social media as well as through Savvy Citizen and Constant Contact. Bacteria testing may take 48 - 72 hours.
Customers outside the affected area may experience discolored water but are not under the Boil Water Advisory.
