NYS SR-23A in Kaaterskill Clove: Traffic Advisory
Please be advised that traffic signals are expected to be in place on State Route 23A in Kaaterskill Clove beginning June 22, 2026, as part of an NYSDOT project to replace a failing culvert underneath SR-23A.
The culvert is located near the retaining wall toward the lower section of Kaaterskill Clove, near the Catskill/Hunter town line.
Due to the challenging conditions in this area, with a steep cliff on one side and a retaining wall on the other, traffic is expected to be reduced to alternating one-way traffic for the duration of the project.
At this time, the project is estimated to take no longer than one month, although the contractor believes the work may be completed sooner.
