Description
The Borough has received several complaints over the last few weeks about interruptions, delays, and errors in the weekly trash pickup. To address these issues, we have been working with our waste collection company, Leck Waste Services, and Republic Services, the company that acquired Leck last month. While the Borough will continue to work with its local team at Leck, their operations will become part of Republic.

Last week the Borough’s regular pickup driver was out, so a new service team was sent out to do trash pickup. Starting this week, Leck’s regular service team for the Borough will be back handling pickup. We hope this will address many of the issues experienced by residents. In addition, the following corrective measures will be implemented this week:

- A route supervisor will meet with drivers and laborers to review and correct all service issues.
- A supervisor will be in the field with drivers monitoring performance over the next two weeks while the Borough is being serviced.

Our office remains in close communication with Leck and Republic to address any new issues. To report new or previously-reported issues that remain unaddressed, please contact the Borough office at 215-757-3768 or email the Borough Manager and Clerk at manager@langhorneborough.com and clerk@langhorneborough.com.

As a reminder, trash pickup is Wednesday morning most weeks, unless a holiday falls on that week in which case pickup may be pushed back to Thursday. Trash, recycling, and yard waste are collected separately on the same day. Residents may put out no more than one bulk item per week to be picked up with the trash. Any changes to the regularly-scheduled pickup will be shared on the Borough website, Facebook page, Constant Contact, and Savvy Citizen.

Thank you for your patience during this period of transition as we work to make sure all issues are resolved.
