Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 14 at 8:29PM EDT until June 14 at 8:45PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 829 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Red Lion,
moving northeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
York, Red Lion, Spry, Dallastown, East York, Stonybrook-Wilshire,
Shrewsbury, Grantley, Tyler Run-Queens Gate, Hallam, Emigsville, and
Wrightsville.
This includes Interstate 83 from mile markers 5 to 21.
A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can
develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not
immediately likely, if one is spotted act quickly and move to a place
of safety inside a sturdy structure, such as a basement or small
interior room.
Stay inside a well built structure and keep away from windows.
