Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 14 at 8:23PM EDT until June 14 at 9:00PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 822 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Morris to Little Pine State Park to Rebersburg,
moving east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Williamsport, Lock Haven, Montoursville, Jersey Shore, Carroll,
Lamar, Mill Hall, Avis, Dunnstown, Flemington, Duboistown, and
Castanea.
For those driving on Interstate 80, this includes areas between the
Bellefonte and Lewisburg-Williamsport exits, specifically from mile
markers 172 to 206.
This includes Interstate 180 from mile markers 20 to 29.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for central and
north central Pennsylvania.
Stay inside a well built structure and keep away from windows.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
