Description
An extreme heat event is forecasted for our area on Thursday, June 11th, and Friday, June 12th. High temperatures and humidity can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Please take precautions to stay safe:
☀️ Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
💧 Drink plenty of water, even if you do not feel thirsty.
🏠 Stay in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
👵 Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and others who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.
🚗 Never leave children, pets, or vulnerable adults unattended in vehicles.
👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
Those most at risk include older adults, infants and children, pregnant women, individuals with chronic health conditions, and anyone working or exercising outdoors.
