Description
Flash Flood Warning issued June 3 at 3:02AM CDT until June 3 at 4:00AM CDT by NWS Lubbock TX
At 302 AM CDT, emergency management reported ongoing flash flooding
across the warned area, with water over the roadway in multiple
locations along US-87. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have fallen and
light to moderate rain continues. Additional rainfall amounts up to
0.5 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already
occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Tahoka and Grassland.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
