Special Weather Statement issued May 26 at 9:29PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
At 928 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Lakehills to Leming to 9 miles north of
Fort Ewell Site. Movement was east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
San Antonio, New Braunfels, Schertz, Seguin, Cibolo, Converse,
Universal City, Live Oak, Pleasanton, Selma, Floresville, Jourdanton,
Poteet, Kenedy, Karnes City, Poth, Yorktown, Charlotte, Stockdale,
and Christine.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 AM CDT for
south central Texas.
