The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northern Allegheny County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
Southeastern Butler County in west central Pennsylvania...

* Until midnight EDT.

* At 859 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned
area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected
rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Ross Township, McCandless Township, Moon Township, Franklin Park,
Shaler Township, Hampton Township, Robinson Township, Harrison
Township, O'hara Township, Bellevue, Kennedy Township, Wexford,
West View, Stowe Township, McKees Rocks, Crafton and Coraopolis.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
