Flood Watch issued May 24 at 5:14PM EDT until May 25 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...East central Ohio, including: Belmont, Guernsey, Harrison,
Jefferson OH, Monroe, Muskingum and Noble Counties, in
Pennsylvania, including: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler,
Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Washington and Westmoreland Counties, and
in West Virginia, including: Brooke, Hancock, Marion, Marshall,
Monongalia, Ohio, Preston, and Wetzel Counties.
* WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and isolated storms capable of heavy rain could lead to
flash flooding in areas where ground is already very wet from
prior days of rainfall. In Pennsylvania and northern West
Virginia, where less rainfall has occurred prior, heavy rainfall
tonight may be sufficient for flash flooding despite the lack of
notable prior rainfall.
