Hello Inglis Residents,
We want to provide you with the latest update regarding our ongoing water issues.
As of today, May 20th, the Town of Inglis remains connected to Yankeetown's water system. Out of an abundance of caution, the Boil Water Notice remains in effect until further notice.
Today's Actions & Next Steps:
System Flushing: Tomorrow May 21, crews will be flushing the town's water lines. While this step wasn't strictly required, the Town of Inglis is doing this as an extra safety precaution to help improve water clarity and color.
Testing: We are currently waiting on laboratory test results, which we hope to receive later today.
Filtration Sand Shipment: We are still awaiting the specialized sand coming from Germany. We hope to have it delivered by next week, though this timeline depends entirely on shipping and customs.
We sincerely apologize for this situation taking much longer than anticipated. Please know that we are working diligently every day to resolve this issue. Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.
