Special Marine Warning issued May 9 at 6:21PM EDT until May 9 at 7:30PM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH
For the following areas...
Nearshore waters from Vermilion OH to Ripley NY...
Open waters from Vermilion OH to Conneaut OH...
At 621 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Lorain Harbor to near Willowick to 13 nm
northwest of Conneaut, moving east at 50 knots.
HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots and small hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves.
Locations impacted include...
Geneva-On-The-Lake, Conneaut, Avon Point, Erie, Willowick, Fairport
Harbor, Cleveland, Ashtabula, and Lorain Harbor.
Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
