Red Flag Warning issued May 6 at 8:19PM EDT until May 7 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Melbourne FL
...Critical Fire Weather Conditions Expected Thursday...
.Gusty southwest winds, low relative humidity, and drought
conditions will combine to cause critical fire weather conditions
from Lake and Volusia counties southward through Osceola and
Brevard counties during the afternoon and evening hours Thursday.
The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM EDT Thursday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA...Volusia, Lake, Orange, Seminole, Osceola,
and Brevard.
* WIND...Southwest around 15 mph with gusts to around 25 mph.
* HUMIDITY...As low as 27 to 35 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
