Description
Cheswick Borough will be conducting hydrant flushing beginning Monday, May 4th.

This process involves opening fire hydrants and allowing water to flow freely for a short period of time. Hydrant flushing is an important maintenance activity that removes sediment from water mains, improves overall water quality, verifies proper operation of hydrants and valves, and helps ensure the integrity of the Borough’s water system.

During this time, some residents may experience temporary discoloration of their water. This is not a health concern. If discoloration occurs, residents are advised to run cold water for a few minutes until it clears.

Flushing will occur between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM and is expected to continue for approximately three weeks, weather permitting.

Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through areas where crews are working.
