Red Flag Warning issued April 24 at 6:37PM CDT until April 25 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Lubbock TX
The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM CDT Saturday. A
Fire Weather Watch has also been issued for Sunday afternoon
through Sunday evening.
* Wind...For Saturday, West at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
For Sunday, Southwest at 25 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph.
* Humidity...As low as 7 percent.
* Fuels...Dry to critically dry.
* Impacts...Any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is discouraged.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.
