🌱 Grass & Weed Ordinance Reminder 🌱
As spring and summer get underway, the Borough would like to remind residents and property owners of our Grass and Weed Ordinance (§ 10‑201 through § 10‑204).
✅ What’s required:
Grass, weeds, and other non‑ornamental vegetation must not exceed 6 inches in height
Vegetation may not create unpleasant odors, conceal debris, or produce seed
Properties must be maintained to protect health, safety, and neighborhood appearance
🏠Who is responsible?
Both the property owner and/or the occupant are responsible for compliance and may be cited.
📬 Notice & enforcement:
If a violation is observed, the Borough may issue one notice per growing season
Property owners/occupants have 5 days to correct the issue
After notice, each day of violation is a separate offense
If not corrected, the Borough may cut the vegetation and bill the cost + 10% to the responsible party
⚠️ Penalties:
Violations may result in fines of up to $1,000 per day, plus court costs
Continued noncompliance may also result in further legal action
Our goal is not fines or enforcement, but maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy community for all residents. Thank you for doing your part to keep Red Lion looking its best!
