Street Sweeping Enforcement Notice
We have experienced multiple instances throughout the Borough where 8–10 vehicles remained parked on a street during scheduled street sweeping. As a result, those streets could not be properly cleaned.
When sweeping cannot be completed, NO PARKING signs must remain posted until the street is successfully swept. During this period, $50 parking citations will continue to be issued to vehicles that do not move.
The Borough is also in the process of contracting with a towing company. Vehicles that continue to block street sweeping may be towed, and the cost to retrieve a towed vehicle will be approximately $300, payable by the vehicle owner.
Our goal is not to issue tickets or tow vehicles. Our priority is to keep our streets clean and to protect our stormwater system and local waterways. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in moving vehicles as required on scheduled sweeping days.
