PUBLIC NOTICE
Public Water System Name: City of Kenedy
PWS ID Number: 1280002
On April 14, 2026, the City of Kenedy public water system was notified that a routine raw water
well sample collected from our water system tested positive for total coliform and E. coli
bacteria.
As required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the affected well was
immediately removed from service, and corrective actions were taken. Additional sampling was
conducted to confirm the safety of the drinking water.
We are pleased to report that follow-up sample collected on April 16, 2026, were absent of total
coliform and E. coli bacteria. The water quality continues to meet all state and federal drinking
water standards.
The issue has been resolved, and the well has been returned to normal operation.
We will continue to adhere to all state requirements regarding testing of our water system to
ensure the ongoing safety of your drinking water.
