Description
Fire Weather Watch issued April 13 at 7:00PM MDT until April 14 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM
...FIRE WEATHER WATCH FOR MUCH OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO 12 PM TO 7 PM
TUESDAY DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY...
.Critical fire weather conditions are coming to an end for the
day across northeast New Mexico as relative humidity values rise
and southwest winds slowly taper off. Strong southwest winds and
low humidity values return to the area Tuesday as well as
expanding across a larger area of eastern NM. This will bring the
potential for rapid fire spread to areas that received little
rainfall this past Friday and Saturday.
* AREA AND TIMING...Central Highlands (Zone 125) and the East
Central Plains (Zone 126) from 12 PM to 7 PM MDT Tuesday.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values 12 to 17 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended..
Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this Fire Weather Watch.
