I-80 Lehigh Bridge Construction Update
Residents are advised of the following updates regarding the ongoing I-80 Lehigh Bridge construction project:
• The eastbound entrance ramp will remain closed.
• The westbound exit ramp is expected to close around March 20.
• For a period of time, both ramps will be closed simultaneously.
This temporary overlap is necessary to allow crews to complete the final surface topping of the entrance ramp and bridge. Keeping both ramps closed during this phase is the safest and most efficient approach, helping to avoid frequent opening and closing over the next two months. This also reduces confusion for truck drivers and delivery vehicles, which could otherwise lead to traffic congestion and unsafe turnaround attempts within the community.
During the full closure period, construction crews will also be working on the existing bridge to:
• Create the westbound traffic crossover, and
• Build a temporary exit ramp from I-80 into town
These steps are part of the preparation for the next phase of bridge construction.
